Frequently Asked Questions
How many pallets fit in a 10x5 Tandem?
A 10×5 deck (approx 3m x 1.5m) can typically fit two standard pallets (1165mm x 1165mm) end-to-end with plenty of room for strapping.
What is the ATM of the 10x5 Tandem?
Standard is 2000kg ATM. However, because the trailer itself is heavier (Tare approx 600kg), we often recommend upgrading to 3000kg or 3500kg ATM (Electric Brakes) to ensure you have a useful payload.
Is this trailer suitable for farm use?
Yes. The 10×5 is popular on farms for carrying hay bales, fencing wire, and troughs. The hot-dip galvanising resists corrosion from animal waste and mud.
Can I get a cattle crate for the 10x5?
Yes. We custom build removable cattle/stock crates for this size. It turns your utility trailer into a livestock transporter in minutes.
Does the 10x5 have Rocker Roller suspension?
Yes. We fit heavy-duty Rocker Roller suspension as standard on our 10x5s. This distributes the load evenly across both axles, essential for a trailer of this length.
Is it hard to reverse a 10x5 trailer?
Actually, longer trailers are easier to reverse than short ones. They react slower to steering input, giving you more time to correct your line. The 10×5 is excellent for learning to reverse.
Do you sell a flat-top version (no sides)?
Yes. We offer a 10×5 Flat Top where the wheels are under the deck. This allows you to forklift pallets on from the side without wheel guards getting in the way.
What vehicle do I need to tow this?
You need a vehicle with at least a 2500kg or 3000kg towing capacity. A Ford Ranger, Toyota LandCruiser, or Nissan Patrol is recommended for a fully loaded 10×5.
Does it come with a heavy-duty jockey wheel?
Yes. We fit an 8-inch or 10-inch heavy-duty swing-up jockey wheel to handle the heavier drawbar weight of a tandem trailer.
Can I use this for a tiny home base?
While you can build on it, we recommend our specific “Tiny Home Chassis” trailers which are designed with flat mounting points and optimized weight distribution. Ask us for a quote!
